Research on IRG Disaffiliates

As part of her participation in the Borgenicht Fellowship, Sarah O  synthesized and shared trail-blazing research on the topic of religious disaffiliation, high-demand disaffiliation, and religious trauma. When possible, her synthesis also include a brief interview with the author(s) of the article.

Although these topics have become more common to hear about anecdotally, academic research has only recently begun to catch up. Academic research is important as it uses scientific methods to produce evidence to inform opinions, areas of future research, and more practically, resource allocation and even policy. Keep in mind these short article summaries will not capture the full breadth and nuance of the research article, so if you would like to learn more about the articles findings or methods, click the link embedded in the article title.
